I just purchased the microdermabrasion kit by Neutrogena. I'm a little anxious b/c first time user. For those who have used it, are there any tips before I get started to get the best results? Also, was it a good buy?
Neutrogena Microderm. kit--is it effective? Any tips?
If you're a first time user, try not to scrub too hard. Just massage your face in a circular action gently until your face adjusts. If you scrub too hard, it'll hurt for one, secondly you'll turn red.
Also don't scrub your face for more than 30 seconds.
I used the L'oreal microdermabrasion kit, it was pretty good, I used it to try to remove sunspots so I scrubbed in specific areas. I thoguht it lightened a little, but when I stopped, they just went back to normal.
Also, the other thing I did was use a lot of sunblock after using the kit, because I heard your skin is kind of fragile after the treatment, and exposure to the sun might cause even more spots. Yeah, I'm kind of paranoid about the spots. So I used the cream that came wtih the kit which already has SPF 15, and a separate SPF 50 sunblock (clarin's white tea sunscreen. I love that!).
On the whole, I thought it was a good buy. At the very least my skin was smoother. After the first few tries, and if you like it, try gently exfoliating your neck too! Be very gentle though. You'll feel a difference! Be sure to moisturise and use sunblock on your neck after that too!
Reply:Use the cleansing, mask, the hold line of the product.
Reply:I have tried the Neutrogena microdermabrasion kit and I liked it alot. I did help my skin look fresher and some of my scars are less visible now. I think it was one of the best buys I've ever made from all at-home microderma kits I've tried in the last few years.
My only tip is not to over massage the cream with the applicator, the crystals are harsh even if you don't feel it and you might end up with irritations and damaged skin. One minute per area (forehead, cheeks, chin) is more than enough. And remember to use a follow-up replenishing cream before going to bed, your skin really needs it.
Hope this helps and good luck.
Reply:do not use it on open acne.It will make it worse.
