Compared with reptilian kidneys, mammalian kidneys are more effective water conservation organs because?

a. they are paired

b. they remove more water from urine

c. they produce a very dilute urine solution

d. allow urine to diffuse into the kidney

An explanation and answer would be greatly appreciated!

Reptiles are unable to produce liquid urine more concentrated than their body fluids so going along that chain of thought your answer would be "b". Reptiles also have paired kidneys. Producing very dilute urine solution is unadvantageous, and d is just wrong. Removing more water from urine would be more advantageous as you are able to "conserve" more water that way, and mammalians are capable of producing urine more concentrated than their own body fluids unlike reptiles, so there's b for you.
