Do you think America's school system is effective??

I don't really think its affective. In one of my teacher's classes, 22 out of 30 people had F's. In my class, there were 15. The rest were C- to B's (i got the highest score in my class) Not a lot of people are graduating high school anymore. We are 7th graders in middle school, so I want to know your opinions.

Do you think America's school system is effective??
No, it isn't. Political correctness has made it impossible to discuss frankly and truthfully how things have gotten the way they are. Everyone is hyper-sensitive. The other part is that kids are expecting that teachers entertain them, and that lessons are supposed to be "fun". Truth is, school isn't fun. Lessons are boring. But, every game has its rules. These lessons are the basis of common knowledge that it is expected for everyone in the work force to know and understand. The dirty little secret about public education is that it isn't designed to educate -it's designed to create law-abiding citizens that operate under a common set of rules. If you want education, go to private, parochial, or home-schooling.
Reply:no is not
Reply:From what im hearing either the school system is bad or the students are not paying attenation to classes. Buts thats my opinion and Im from outside if the U.S
Reply:It isn't the system, it is the kids. Apply yourselves and you'll do fine!
Reply:Not at all.

In our son's previous classes the disruptive students had a habit of taking away time from the teachers to help the students trying.

Several of the new teachers acted more like glorified babysitters than teachers.

Violence and theft was rampant and the principal swept it under the rug to maintain a zero tolerance record.

Our children were doing great until the new teachers came in. Teachers that wanted the title of teacher but truly hated kids and teaching.

Now, we home school and trust me, our system is far more effective.

The worst part about this: This school was a great building in a great location. The district just didn't care.
