Reply:I can't say that Fox or Rove are effective propagandists. The present government employs a great deal of propaganda, as does Fox, but anyone with average intelligence or greater can see right through it.





It only seems to be effective with people of diminished mental capacity. Fortunately for Fox and Rove those people exist in substantial numbers in the U.S.. They call themselves, "republicans"

Well the Bush administration hasnt done much convincing aside from the blitz about WMD which they are trying again. Like Bush says "fool me once shame on.... (gets flustered)"

Reply:None of the above. I would say advertisers in general. News media and political figures always have significant detractors. Many advertisers, somehow, do not. Who disputes that Diet Coke will make you thinner? Who disputes "low Carb" snack bars are healthier than zucchini (which is all carbs)? What about cars and their "safety functions?" The most determinative saftey component of a car is its driver.

Reply:I wouldn't say the Bush administration's propaganda is very effective considering his poll numbers. Fox News is definitely good at propaganda, but not one of the best in history (I guess you could argue the same for CNN). The Nazis were certainly a huge propaganda machine. Both America and Russia were very propagandists during the Cold War.





However, I'd say the biggest propagandists in history has to be the Roman Catholic Church. Not so much for recent history, but if you look back over the church's history, they are very good at propaganda. Look how they converted the pagans by taking some of their customs and holidays and making it part of official Catholic practices.
